MAGE Company’s 12 Realms: Dungeonland is currently on Kickstarter. This cooperative dungeon-crawler game for 1-4 heroes is a standalone game in the 12 Realms series.
Evil has spread over the lands of 12 Realms and once again heroes must step forward and cooperate to banish the evil once and for all. The game plays differently from the original 12 Realms as this version lets you play in 3 different ways: campaign mode, arena, or master quest. Your characters also get to grow as you play; unlocking skills and gaining items.
With the campaign, you’ll be able to explore the world of 12 Realms with several scenarios. Your choices during each game will impact how the story progresses.
In the Arena mode, up to 8 players can battle it out in “The Duel” (as teams) or “Waves of Enemies”; a tower defense style game.
The last mode, Master Quest, is a quick play scenario that lets you experience the story of a campaign all in one play session.
Jess: From the description and look of the game, Dungeonland reminds me a lot of the 1989 classic, Hero Quest. The minis, dungeon tiles, scenery bits all give me that vibe. While I wasn’t in love with the original 12 Realms game, this new one looks like it has a lot more depth. You can check it out for yourself on the 12 Realms: Dungeonland Kickstarter.
