Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate Coming this Fall
Like Betrayal at House on the Hill? Like Dungeons & Dragons?
Lets mash these two up then!
Come November 15, 2017, Avalon Hill will be releasing Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate. Based on the mechanics of Betrayal at House on the Hill, this game will explore the Dungeons & Dragons city Baldur’s Gate which is a famous location in their Forgotten Realms setting.
The announcement was made during the Dungeons & Dragons “Stream of Annihilation“.

On Amazon, Avol Hill describes the game as “The shadow of Bhaal has come over Baldur’s Gate, summoning monsters and other horrors from the darkness!
As you build and explore the iconic city’s dark alleys and deadly catacombs, you must work with your fellow adventurers to survive the terrors ahead. That is, until some horrific evil turns one — or possibly more — of you against each other. Was it a mind flayer’s psionic blast or the whisperings of a deranged ghost that caused your allies to turn traitor? You have no choice but to keep your enemies close!
In Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate, you’ll return to Baldur’s Gate again and again thanks to the fifty included scenarios only to discover it’s never the same game twice. Can you and your party survive the madness, or will you succumb to the mayhem and split (or slaughter!) the party?”
Betrayal at Baldur’s Gate will be a 3-6 player game using the Betrayal format. The game will feature classic themes, classes (like Wizard, Monk, and Barbarian), and items as well as 50 new scenarios to run the characters through.
Jess: I was a big fan of Forgotten Realms back when I played D&D 3.5 and I get really into the Baldur’s Gate video game way back when, so this new version of Betrayal sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Now to just wait for November to roll around…
