Board Game Design Day is returning to the Game Developers Conference (GDC, the world’s largest professional game industry event)! The exciting gaming conference will be host to many talks and sessions on behind-the-scenes of board game design.
Fantasy Flight Games’ Andrew Fischer will be doing a presentation called “Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition: Postmortem of an App-Integrated Board Game” during which he will discuss how to build board games that integrate mobile apps through his work on Mansions of Madness 2nd edition.
Geoff Engelstein, of Mars International, will also be presenting his session “White, Brown, and Pink: The Flavors of Tabletop Game Randomness”. The talk will give insight on different types of randomness and how they can be used in game design.
Jess: I attended last year’s GDC design day and it was a real treat to hear from the designers about their work and points of view on the industry. If you have any interest in designing your own games, GDC is an amazing event to attend. To learn more about the conference head on over to GDConf.com.
