Dwar7s Winter funded in first 10 hours of Kickstarter campaign

Vesuvius Media’s new board game Dwar7s Winter, successfully funded in the first 10 hours of its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. It is the second game in the popular Dwar7s series by Game Designer and Illustrator Luis Brueh. The 3-week campaign ends on January 15.

“Dwar7s Winter is the most popular project on Kickstarter right now!” said Konstantinos Manos, Vesuvius Media’s CEO and Lead Game Designer. “We still have a lot of work in ahead of us, but we couldn’t be happier. So much thanks goes to our fantastic game community for their continuous support!”

Dwar7s Winter is a hand-building, worker placement, resource management game with tower defence elements for 1 to 4 players. It can be played in 30 to 45 minutes and recommended for ages 13+. Although, Dwar7s Winter is the sequel to Dwar7s Fall, it is an independent, stand-alone game that includes 36 highly-detailed miniatures.

“Today is day 2 of the campaign and we’ve already unlocked promo cards and the first stretch goal,” said Manos. “We’re working hard to keep the momentum going and are looking forward to revealing surprises along the way!”

To date, Dwar7s Fall is Vesuvius Media’s best-selling game. After selling out at UK Games Expo, GenCon, Hal-Con, Essen Spiel, and AthensCon, Dwar7s Fall won the Best Game 2017 by Tábula Quadrada and Best National Game 2017 by Meeple Maniacs.

“Dwar7s Fall is lighthearted with super cute characters, but those ogres can get vicious… depending on their King! Now, in Winter, we’re throwing hungry polar bears, frost giants, and snowstorms into the mix,” said Manos.

Much like Dwar7s Fall 2nd edition, Dwar7s Winter is text-free and the rulebook will be available in multiple languages. Players eager to get a sneak peek, can play the game online at https://tabletopia.com/playground/dwarfs-winter-bd3kr1/play-now.

In December 2016, Dwar7s Fall surpassed its crowdfunding goal with 1622 backers worldwide pledging $82,479 USD during a 3-week Kickstarter campaign. A third print run is now in production as it has been picked up by distributors in the United States, Brazil, France, Russia, Greece, and China.

The third and forth games in the series, Dwar7s Spring and Dwar7s Summer, are in-development. Check out the Dwar7s Winter Kickstarter here!
