The dates for the 10th annual Serious Play Conference (SPC) has been announced and early registration is now open.
The 2018 NY Serious Play Conference will be held at the University at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Building co-sponsored by Graduate School of Education, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences on July 16-19 and the 2018 DC Serious Play Conference will be held at the George Mason University, Hylton Performing Arts Center hosted by Virginia Serious Games Institute on July 10-12.
According to SPC:
“Training leads from corporations and medical institutions will share the challenges and what they’ve learned using sims and gamification for staff and patient training. Instructional designers, psychologists and brain science researchers will talk how to create games with solid evaluation and assessment. Higher ed faculty and ed tech teachers will discuss game-based learning in K-12, college and medical schools.
We will also have a government/military track with practical sessions on emergency response to terrorism and preparation for public health threats. Contractors and military staff will also share how the DOD training can be applied to local and state government, business and healthcare.”
In addition to the sessions, SPC also hosts an award ceremony for board and video games that honor outstanding commercial and student titles used for education or training.
