Gamewright Releases Happy City Card in Support of Ukraine

Gamewright has announced they are publishing a special card for their newest city-building game Happy City. Proceeds from the card’s sales will go to Global Giving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund, which supports humanitarian assistance in Ukraine communities.

According to Gamewright:

Last year, our Ukrainian publishing partner chose to localize Happy City in their country. However, they had one significant request: replace the ‘bonus building’ card that features Moscow’s Red Square with a Ukraine-centric landmark. Honoring their wishes, our partner reached out to the game’s artist who illustrated a vibrant scene that incorporates the iconic Golden Gate of Kyiv along with a monument of Yaroslav the Wise (one of the most famous princes of Kyiv). But just as production was about to start, the conflict escalated, leading up to the tragic situation we now know. As a result, Happy City cannot be released in Ukraine.

Due to the terrible situation and inspired by their partners at Cocktail Games, Gamewright has decided to translate the card into English and offer it as a special release. For $5 you can get a copy of this Golden Gate of Kyiv card and Gamewright will donate that money to Global Giving to provide shelter, food, and clean water for refugees, health and psychosocial support, access to education and economic assistance, and more.
