About Us: Ridley’s Games is totally unique, immensely fun, and packed with personality. We design games you will want to play all day, every day. We are based in Bath, England, and we are part of the Chronicle Books family.

  • Understanding the broader games market in general and the work of particular competitors
  • Spotting and researching trends (themes, styles, influencers)
  • Keeping abreast of Ridley’s sales successes and challenges and retailer, influencer, and consumer feedback

Conceptualize and develop new games that are distinct from the competition, building on own ideas and those of others, by, for example:

  • Pitching ideas and contributing games to the development pipeline
  • Participating in game mechanic development and creating early playable prototypes
  • Organizing and participating in early play tests, organizing user trials, focus groups, and internal product tests as required
  • Writing and/or copy checking pack copy, instruction booklets and any other associated text required throughout the development process
  • Undertaking any first pass copyright/trademark checks concerning product titles, gameplay and physical componentry/design, escalating findings as appropriate within the business
  • Fact-checking any game content as necessary

Identify and collaborate with external creative partners by, for example:

  • Being a brand ambassador for Ridley’s at, e.g., trade shows and consumer environments
  • Researching, contracting with, and sponsoring new external developers
  • Writing content briefs for external suppliers and managing this process through to delivery and approval

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance Ridley’s brand reputation, workplace environment, and business growth by, for example:

  • Committing to the open exchange of ideas and contributing to an atmosphere of collaboration, mutual accountability, and trust
  • Working closely with designers, product developers, and Head of Brand to ensure that all games are aligned with Ridley’s strategic imperatives
  • Ensuring on-time deliverables, being mindful of potential issues and keeping stakeholders informed of key deliverables and dates
  • Optimizing value, seeking ways to value engineer product from the outset and forefronting margin and RRP/SRP targets for maximum retail potential
  • Supporting sales and marketing teams, helping to plan and lead games immersion and training sessions, videos, and social content and customer and consumer engagement
  • Always seeking ways to improve your own products and those of others, creatively and profitably

Desired Experience & Skills
